What do you think about BJJ instructors or organizations that claim to have a better teaching method, but have not produced any champions?

I'm not talking about the ones that have proven themselves. For instance, I know that Lloyd Irvin has received flack about his advertising methods, but I have never heard anyone question his results.

But what about the ones that have no track record? Should these instructors/organizations be called on this? How can you claim to have a superior method and nothing to back it up but regular students singing the praises?

Just curious as to thoughts on this because most of the time it seems these claims go unchecked.
